Hosted Wine & Golf Experience

A premium two-hour experience combining social golf with a guided wine tasting. Enjoy 4–5 wines while playing a mix of formats, from relaxed practice to friendly competition. Hosted throughout Wine Week, this is a unique way to explore new wines in a fun, social setting.

Brix and Bones

We are extremely excited to announce that we have been inspired to launch our very own Wine Club! Our new wine club will allow Brian to take you through his latest discoveries in a relaxed, intimate setting. You will sample 6 wines over the 2 hours, allowing ample time to delve into the wines in depth.

We will be exploring Agricola Cortese – a premium organic Sicilian winery dedicated to expressing the true character of its terroir through sustainable farming, biodiversity, and low-intervention winemaking.

The Last

A somewhat different wine & cheese experience as we show four fabulous cheeses each served in two different ways – as a slice and as reimagined by our chefs. Each cheese is paired with a great wine designed to bring out the flavour of both the cheese and the wine.

Bowling House

Upstairs at the Bowling House, wine tasting with Sara from Berkmann wines, paired with canapés until 9pm. Followed by a showing of the film ‘Sideways’ starring Paul Giamatti and Thomas Haden Church, about two close friends embarking on a week-long road trip through California wine country.

Norfolk Local Wine School – The Last. Wine & Dine: A Taste of Greece.

Join us for an evening of Greek food, wine, and warm hospitality as we take you on a journey through the vineyards and kitchens of Greece. The Lions’ Den – Alcohol Free!

As part of Norwich Wine Week, we’re hosting a relaxed Alcohol-Free Wine Tasting at The Lions’ Den City. Join us for a Friday evening tasting, with a welcome drink, five alcohol-free wine tasters and nibbles from the kitchen. We’ll try the wines together, make notes as we go, and chat through each type before moving on to the next. A friendly evening for anyone who is alcohol-free, sober curious, cutting back, driving, or just interested in trying something new. Substrata x Rambling Roots

Specialists in nutritious street food serving a plant based menu of seasonal small plates from the kitchenette in our Dove St shop. We’ll select four wines from our portfolio of direct imports from small independent growers to pour by the glass. Or choose your own bottle from the shop shelves and add £10 corkage. No bookings, no cover charge – just pay for what you eat and drink. Kombucha available for non-drinkers.

Three Stories

We’ll be hosting an exciting and relaxed wine discovery experience with our great friends from Enotria Wine & Spirits. Showcasing a curated selection of wines from around the globe. Guests will be able to purchase tasting tickets from our bar at £10 which can then be redeemed in our basement bar where they can be swapped for 3 x 100ml pours of their choosing, alongside knowledgeable guidance.

The Garnet

The Garnet Wine Club is a monthly blind wine tasting event hosted by Paul Francis Bryan at The Garnet Stores in collaboration with Norwich Wine Week. In this 2 hour session we taste wines without knowing the grape/s, where the wine is produced, or what the label/bottle looks like. We taste the wines in a methodical yet unfussy way and discuss as a group our findings.
